The Raconteurs live
Jack White's new group kicks freakin ass. I was late to get on board, but they've immediately become one of my absolute favorite groups. So can anyone recommend a particular show from the following list of UK dates the Raconteurs played that might be an outstanding one worth having a copy of?
The Raconteurs Live – Glasgow Academy – 14th October 2006 The Raconteurs Live - Newcastle Academy – 18th October 2006 The Raconteurs Live – Brixton Academy – 19th October 2006 The Raconteurs Live – Brixton Academy – 20th October 2006 The Raconteurs Live – Bristol Colston Hall – 22nd October 2006 The Raconteurs Live – Nottingham Rock City – 23rd October 2006 The Raconteurs Live – Wolverhampton Civic Hall – 24th October 2006 |

Not sure which ones are the better shows to choose from yet, but if anyone can shed some light, it'd be much appreciated. For now, I just ordered the one from October 19th since that's my birthday. Seemed like as good a way to make a decision as any at this point. Hey Winjer, what kind of stuff did they do live? Long jams? Covers? All of the above? I'm bummed I missed the tour... |
Re: The Raconteurs live
Yeah.... they did some great jamming and a few killer covers. I really wasn't expecting it after an awful white stripes concert a few years back...

Re: The Raconteurs live
i think i've got the glasgow one at home - the quality's not too good to be honest and the songs don't seem any better than the album versions. perhaps it was because it was the first gig and they took a while to get into their stride?

Re: The Raconteurs live
That could be. I've watched some live videos of them on Youtube, and it seems to me like the earlier ones (television debut on Conan O'Brien and such) aren't as good as ones that were from mid-tour. The good ones were great though. One was a fantastic cover of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" that I hope is on the live cd I ordered.
