Niiiice!
So far:

"Blue Mountain Jam" (2000)
"Phonestrap" (Studio) - link to buy bundle of 6 versions in wav or mp3 from the shop!
"Swing Up High" (v1 studio, 2004)
"02-02-02" (studio, v1 2001 and v2 2008) - link to buy bundle of the 2 versions in wav or mp3 from the shop!

Some great commentaries on the works and progression by Rick and kal, too! :):)

Anyone finding that when you buy the wav audio, that the artwork won't show in iTunes?

Yes sorry about that!

The problem here is that a wav's meta-data is very limited. When you import the wav into iTunes however, you can add Artist, Album, Artwork etc.

Ho Hum....

blue mountain : 6 of 8 title -> always thought this was just 'king of snake (pt 1)'
leading into the full version..

didn't think of it as a separate track..

Yes, FLAC and/or Apple Lossless please!

In the meantime, if you're adding the WAV to iTunes like Dirty0900, I recommend encoding to Apple Lossless. You'll save disk space, no loss of quality, and when you add the tags and artwork, it will be embedded into the file, so that if you ever have to move the file in the future, that stuff will go with it. If you leave it as WAV in your library, the artwork and tags are only contained in your iTunes library file. Outside of iTunes/iPod, you won't be able to see it.

Outside of that, this is a kick-ass way to start the day! Buying now...

Re: 6 of 8, I always called it early King of Snake. Some of the sample still find their way into the live shows. On the old Archive it was labeled KOS. Don't tease us R&K, what's the name?

Karl, re: the photo of Graham getting ready to jump, maybe you can't find it because it's a DV tape?

I'm loving the history, stories, and anecdotes about each track. So much to absorb here; I'm like a kid in a candy shop right now.

It's nice to see RiverRun stuff like "Swing Up High" getting out there. I always KNEW aNt had loads of unreleased songs he wasn't sharing! But yes, what happens next, please? (Can I make a request for "Bullet Train to Kyoto" to be the next RiverRun track?)

yeah, the server DID die. it's alive again. I think aNt gave it a pint to revive it and all is well now.

thank you. thank you thank you.

I should have the original title it was given back then somewhere in my archives. But KoS pt 1. it was dubbed as we talked about.
Good you remembered where it was about the DV tape, I also knew he talked about it before but where....

Yeah loving the stories behind the tracks.

phonestrap and 020202 are the only new things to buy/download right?

TheBang 10-23-2008 10:49 AM

Re: UWlive Audio: Now Open

Third time the server's crashed. Gonna have to use a download manager to finish these downloads. At least the site doesn't decrement your download counter (until you finish, I assume).

re: "Swing Up High" - A precursor to or inspiration for "You Do Scribble"?
Edit: Also reminds me a bit of Born Slippy (original).

Yeah, I actually came across that interview only a couple months ago and bookmarked it because it was so good. I think I was looking for information about Push Upstairs and Blue Mountain because it was featured at the Art Jam.

Whoa - 02-02-02 new mix! Loving it, too!
i had all the phonestraps+ autotrader from when they were posted on UWLive and y'all were kind enough to rip. But it's great to get them in high res. er, high REZ.

Need to go home to hear the "Swing Up High" track (connection failing at work for some reason, maybe our firewall?).

I like the Circus-style type and animals on the artwork! Cute.

Just went and bought the new music in WAV form, and now that the transaction's done, I have no apparent way of retrieving the files through my Underworld.live account. Does it take a while for the downloads to show up?

Should appear ojn the upper right. Mine appeared as soon as the paypal went through. Click on My Account again?

Re: BLD - yeah, it's true that many of us already have the Blue Mountain gig and radio rips of phonestrap and 020202. But at least there's something there - cheers aNt for getting this populated. Let's hope for more rarities in the future! I'm quite happy with the economical prices. Remember - Karl mentioend a You Do Scribble bundle coming soon.

It should show up immediately in your "My Account". Try clearing your browser's cache. If that doesn't work, check your PayPal history and make sure the transaction went through? If the transaction posted, then possibly the payment didn't get communicated to underworldlive.com because the server was crashed at the time PayPal completed? In that case, you'll have to e-mail support@underworldlive.com and have them add it to your account.

I really, really like Rick's story on "Phonestrap" (and not just because I'm in it!). I think I found the ice machine room bead curtain photos on page 12 of the Book of Jam 4 PDF.

For anyone who bought the MP3 versions, I have a few questions. What's the name of the enclosing folder (the catalog number)? Did the artwork come separately from the MP3's? Were the MP3's tagged? If so, can you list all the tags?

I bought 020202 in mp3 format (320 kb/s was fine for me for this track).
The cat. # is: UWR0800027
Inside that are two folders, "Artwork" and "Audio". The artwork is the photo as on the website, in jpg at 600 x 600 pixels.
As for file tags, as far as i can tell, they're tagged the same as the file name: "01 020202 (Old Mix).mp3" and "02 020202 (New Mix).mp3, but i could be wrong about this...
Here's what the file details say:
Title: 020202 (Old Mix)
Artist: Underworld
Album: 020202 (Bundle)
Composer: Rick Smith % karl Hyde
Description: The copyright in this sound recording is owned by Rick Smith & Karl Hyde t/a Underworld. All songs written and performed by Karl Hyde and Rick Smith. Produced by Rick Smith. All rights reserved.

Re: UWlive Audio: Now Open

Ooof. I grabbed both Phonestrap and 020202 in 1 transaction (WAV versions), and the paypal email receipt confirms that they were both in the "order", but only Phonestrap is showing up in my list of downloadable stuff, and 020202 is nowhere to be seen. Phonestrap is downloading right now at snail speed, which is to be expected, as I'm guessing the server is getting crusssshhhhed about now. Where'd 020202 go though?

Re: UWlive Audio: Now Open

Thanks, holden, that's what I needed. The ID3 tags are the file details that you gave me, which I was interested in, since WAV doesn't support that metadata.

If someone could post the same information for Phonestrap MP3, I'd appreciate it. I'm also especially interested in the Title tag for track 6.

dubman 10-23-2008 06:16 PM

Re: UWlive Audio: Now Open

bought both wav and mp3s. the whole package is only like $8. thats a dollar each track in both wav and mp3 form.
however since my internet is dying and the servers are getting.... gently caressed by everyone, i'm downloading this from work and putting it on a flash drive :fear:

and even then the wav formats will have to wait.

Hrrrmph :/

I love the new Audio and Shop sections, but Phonestrap and 020202 were not the songs I was hoping for...

Everyone else buy them so they'll release the songs I want to buy :)

you think they will release more?

Phonestrap bundle is amazing!

Phonestrap 2 has been on repeat in my headphones on the way to work. Tis a great track for mixing too!

Great to hear where it started and where it has finished.

It doesn't have to end Buji as i am sure you can mix it to Phonestrap 20! ;)

Re: UWlive Audio: Now Open

Was just thinking the groove would mix well into Faxed Invitation, would just need to see what the tempo difference is!
Also there is room for a bass drum on Phonestrap 2, which would make it more dancable live if needed in that enviroment!

Quality.
