Commonly Played tracks that need 'unmixed' Releases

so, UW have been playing a few tracks now, out live, which i certainly feel need to be released on an ep / download or something in an unmixed form

i am talking of tracks like...

Small Conker
You Do Scribble
Bamboo
Shake That Higher
Javelin Boy
Feel This Bass
Five Ft Five

plus many more that have been played in shows or out but have not seen a physical release in unmixed form...

(feel free to add to this list.... i'm not interested in the few second improvs but you know, the full on tracks, that, unless you're a fan you are unlikely to know about)

so here's where the petition starts...

sign up and get UW to release these tracks to us...

i'd pay for these via UW Live too - so i'm not asking for freebies ;)

Matt

I don't know what box to tick cos I think they are planning on releasing some stuff for free anyway, from what I read in one of two of the recent interviews. On the other hand, I would willingly pay for them too. So... d'oh. :o

Add to these the excellent Darren Price compositions that function as interludes *(some of the above might be his comps anyway, such as "Shake that Higher", see his myspace page)

"Moroccan Meatballs"
Simple Distinctive/floating world"
"yard Beat"
"Circus Faker"
"Borialis"

And then, from the AHDO tour:
"Beep Beep" was the common interlude
a very banging 4 note track that they often played around King of Snake (see Creamfields 02 and Lowlands fest gigs)

Not to mention the old favorite:
"5 points"

That's quite a compilation i'd be willing to pay for. But then, some of these tracks might not exist in extended form, just as lil riffs to bridge or vary the beats between exisiting UW songs.

would be great to have them,
however, they might appear on a future album?
so you never know..

unlikely i think, i'd like them to be as a 'special' download ep /album if thats the case though...

it would be nice to have them in some original form - i.e not live with people cheering over them

i'm not that keen on live tracks in my collection as much as owning some original studio versions...

i have a version of Can You Feel This Bass that is a "studio" version. not sure where it came from, i assume it's off his Myspace page.

that explains it! should be taken off Matt's initial list then if all we're looking for is studio versions.

Speaking of that...

Anyone have a link to that "jazzy" version of Jumbo that was played at one of the lemonworld broadcasts?

possibly...

although i think tracks played 'in full' on tour should kinda be made available to all and sundry at all times - i presume that link is no longer up (for example)

many many people who go see Underworld are not as fanatical as us lot and probably don't know what half these tracks are...

maybe they should release an album called:

'tracks played on tour but not available elsewhere - volume 1'

either way they - i'd like to hear clean 'finished' versions of these tracks

Re: Commonly Played tracks that need 'unmixed' Releases

It would be cool but I think some of that stuff wouldn't work too well on its own (Feel This Bass?). I do think that some of this stuff should make its way to future Riverruns, don't you? I mean Underworld have got enough unreleased material for at least two more full lengths, and many of the tracks that have been released lately (Croc, Burnout, JAL, Holding the Moth) were around in some form or another before, so I think there's a good chance...

I just want a studio version of "You Do Scribble"...although the boot is of pretty low quality, there's one recording out there where Karl's voice just booms out the speakers, whereas in the other ones he sounds kind of like he's in the background - I think a studio version could bring his voice back to the front and be really powerful :)

Re: Commonly Played tracks that need 'unmixed' Releases

remember the improvs that used to be posted
on underworldlive.com?

shouttwice
something like a mama/nuxx (improv)
king of snake (early version)
mmm skyscraper (improv)
air towel (improv)
vocoder monks
unruly july
etc..

maybe they'll release more
through the riverrun series?

(by the way, all of those tracks
are my lemon jam fanmix from ages
ago, which i've remade/cleaned up..
link coming tomorrow)..
