I got mine today. My girlfriend laughed when I pulled off my sweatshirt to reveal the OWB shirt. I was in an art school, so I thought I probably looked normal to most people ;) I'm on my third listen of the album, and I like it better each time.

F*yeah! Put that shirt on right out of the box. I briefly thought about cancelling my second date with this girl so I could have my first pristine listening of OWB! With any luck we'll be back here later listening to it together :D:D:D

They lied. Today is the 15th. I did not need any unnecessary excitement.

I wish the shirt was any other corol but purple. I hate deep hues of purple.

I've been listening to OWB all day and i'm still pondering what to make out of it. This album left me confused, adding questions marks on my face as I lay in a delirious grin. questions, questions... ? ?'s what is it? wha...hh...what?

Thats what the return address says on my UPS package, and nothing else need be said about this album...

I haven't given every track a listen yet, but I'm through 10 of 'em...

First thoughts? Impressed and confused...the typical reaction for a UW album.

Nothin' yet - of course I had to get a friend to place the order and have it sent to his US home so he can forward it on to me... I assume it'll arrive open and enoyed at least once LOL!

Just got the download link, so I'm "working" and grooving out to my first listen... liking it so far...

Any reviews of the DVD yet? Any thoughts?

I had an enraging day at work yesterday so coming home to find my OWB package on the doorstep was so wonderful. Add to that the fact that my Sonic Screwdriver arrived the same day (I'm going to be The Doctor for Halloween) and all my troubles disappeared.
This album will always make me think of wearing a purple tee-shirt in my living room putting batteries in a sci-fi toy. My girlfriend gave me a very worried look when she came over.

yes, it came yesterday...but after i came home from work..

so i had to pick it up today....i've already heard it,
but it was good to finally have the whole thing..will
be listening to it again at work..

and watching the dvd later tonight..

That's what I was wondering until I realized I like "Holding the Moth" so much better :) Still, I was looking forward to getting "Globe" in 5.1 sound...

I too can also remember where i was on the first listen of each UW album, which was usually on my apartment couch in NY, late at night, just listening in the dark, going, "wowwww". :)

That was my first thought after listening OWB the first time. THE perfect ambience for lisning to this album is a dark room. The second perfect is on a Sunday morning with blue skies.

the dvd video is a waste of time, besides the neat pictures from tokyo and abbey road, and the tomato pictures. the videos don't really add anything to the songs at all more than take stuff away... tomato is getting repetitive. 'rez' is interesting because of the live performance. the video looks like background.

yeah, it would've been cooler to have a hi-res 5.1 SACD version of OWB. but that's the audiophile in me talking.

i thought the cockerel video was a great idea, but yeah, aside from that, pretty much a wasted opportunity.
i know they're not ones to stun you with flashy meaninglessness but there's not much in there to engage at all

even the slideshows had this awfully awkward forward/back interface that just screwed up the image and ruined any possibility for good screenshots to print or have as desktop backgrounds

and the rez visuals... well, i'm sure they had more engaging stuff up their sleeve honestly.

pretty disappointed in the dvd.

you can choose to view the slideshows with music in the background, and no ugly arrows in the way of the pictures. you've gotta nudge the DVD cursor to the right of the title so that "SLIDESHOW" is selected.

SACD...bzzzt...wrong format, try again...try dvd-audio..

anyways, had a weird issue, i couldn't play the dvd through my
dvd player, i tried rca cables, and hdmi, i just heard noise, and
the video stuttered....when i played it on my computer it was fine..

anyways, i knew what was going to be on the DVD, so i wasn't
expecting a whole lot, but i was pleased with what was on there.

DVD-1 Crocodile. Video. (3:57)
- cool video, and nice to have a high quality version



DVD-2 Tokyo Makuhari. Slide Show. (1:32)
- short, but nice


DVD-3 Metal Friend. Video. (1:37)
-strange video of people sticking their tongues out
with pieces of paper and words on them..i really
like the music, wish it was longer

DVD-4 Abbey Road. Slide Show. (1:31)
-more cool photos, nice music

WHAT? IT`S BEEN 2 WEEKS!!!

Oh...I forgot...I`m in Japan!;)

BTW - I was on the train (Toyoku Line) today, and every car had an Underworld: OWB advertisement sticker on one door window. I was really excited at first, but then I started thinking about it. I was like "is this getting a bit pop-starish"? I know the Japanese advertising companies have a big influence in this, but it just seemed...erm...a little strange!

I know Rick and Karl still stick to their guns and put out the kind of art they want to put out, but contrary to what they have said in past interviews about their desire for huge/popular success, they ARE getting big!!!

This isn`t so much a complaint, but rather an observation into how things can change over time.

after many, many ebay searches,
try this:

"underworld" -gothic -rex -soundtrack

seems to work pretty well, although then
you lose out on 'breaking and entering',
and possibly 'sunshine' if/when that comes
out...not too bad..

The shirt is beautiful. The pink letters and pac-man like font hearken back to a differen time :p

Only critique is that the black screeprint of the Crocodile single artwork on the lower shirt is hard to see/fully appreciate on the purple shirt. It would have looked slick on a grey shirt.
