Didn't see a thread for this so thought I would start one. Tickets bought. Hoping this show coincides with a possible Beaucoup Fish box set release, would be nice to see Cups Kittens and Moaner back in the mix live!

Yep - we are booked too. Hoping this is a bit more free form, but happy all the same! :)

BTW - why does Underworld always play London shows seemingly in March?

Let's hope this one special gig will be broacasted live and/or gets a professional live recording/release. It's been a while since the 2008 LiveHereNow series!

Re: 2017-03-17 Alexandra Palace

Hey Folks,

I was "in town" today and noticed adverts for this gig on the eastbound Central line from Bond St and north and southbound Jubilee between (at least) all stations between Bond St and Swiss Cottage. Still using the Barbara purple and pink poster, advertising the gig location and date, with a few choice reviews of the album from various media outlets.

Have to admit I was rather surprised to walk past one at Bond St going into town, because a) the gig is pretty far off yet and b) the album has been out a while by now. Definitely concerned because it looks like it is being marketed as another Barbara gig! (note: no wording at all on the posters about very special gig/guests etc).

We are headed in tomorrow again and I can try and get a quick photo - phone was in an inconvenient place.

Coming from Glasgow for this, would be cool if they recorded it for DVD release - though both Roundhouse gigs were filmed, so who knows?

Anyone else ordered their tickets from the UW shop?
I still haven't received mine. On my account page it reads: "1 item awaiting dispatch".

Guess they haven't printed the tickets yet...?

Yep, one of them is sold to me. But for three months I have been waiting for it to arrive.
Guess I'm the only one who hasn't received it, so I will contact them

my tickets haven't arrived yet either. Coming down from the midlands. Will be alone, as the other half hates underworld, but I couldn't miss this.

Need to plan booking a hotel, as with it being a friday, will have to stay over I guess.

If anyone is selling a pair of tickets, I would be interested.

Stubhub fees are just absurd.

Got the following answer from TM Stores:
'Tickets will be posted out as soon as we receive them from the event promoters, this will be nearer the date of the show.'

My ticket arrived yesterday!
Travelling down on the friday (leaving work early). Coming solo to this one, as no-one I know wanted to make the effort.
Hotel booked. Train will be booked today or tomorrow.

Has anyone else received the their ticket(s)? I'm concerned because the concert is little over a month away and it says "Awaiting Dispatch" on my order information.

I'm waiting too. Stress is the only thing associated with ticket purchases that comes free of charge. There's plenty of time though.

A lot of concerts I've been to lately I have not had the tickets sent out until about a week before, so don't panic. For the Chem Bros at the Apollo in December I didn't have the tickets in hand until three days before!

The Slow Slippy 12" took ten days to arrive (I'm in Denmark), so I hope they send those tickets out soon ... :p

Checking in here as its not long to go now. I shall check with the Social Director to find out if they are mailing the tickets here. Thank god we are moving after this concert and not before!

Any sort of meet up planned for this? The venue is a pain in the ass to get to from town.

Finally - are the expectations for something similar to last March's shows or?

I will not make it to the show. :(

Now I have two tickets to sell, going at EUR 100 (GBP 80 at the time) for the lot, plus shipping to wherever you live.

Note that I do not have the tickets yet, but the store sent me a message that they posted them today.

Edit: Please PM me if interested.

Has anyone seen any further information about this gig? Normally shows at Ally Pally are quite big events with 'festival style' food/drink/entertainment in the large foyer and then support bands etc. As it's sold I guess there will be 10k people there. I have not seen anything in the form of support or a 'Tomato' curated type event.

Bang (or some other administrator) - Is there a setting that enables e-mail alerts for when someone sends a PM? Cannot find anything in the Control Panel, even with my glasses on.

New YouTube video popped up:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tcVOdMzzrpI

On 17th March, Underworld celebrate the meeting of the groups past, present and future at their biggest ever UK headline show - a sold-out event at London’s Alexandra Palace. Underworld Surreal Carnival Experiment It’s Underworld all night: Rick Smith kicks things off at 7pm with a performance-come-installation in the middle of the main room. Tracks from a deep-dive into the Underworld catalogue will be deconstructed and re-conceived alongside new and improvised work written specifically for the show by Rick. This support to the main event will be networked throughout the building in a collaboration directed by tomato’s Simon Taylor, that will offer hints at things to come from Underworld. Surreal Carnival Experiment / Rick Smith Live from 7pm. Doors, good food, craft beer and cocktails from 6.30pm. In 2016, Underworld released their seventh studio album Barbara Barbara, we face a shining future to huge critical acclaim. Following the record's release, the band played headline performances at Coachella, Glastonbury and Summer Sonic and received their first Grammy Nomination. In January 2017, T2 Trainspotting was released featuring an original score by Rick Smith alongside new Underworld material. Karl Hyde’s collaboration with Simon Stephens and Scott Graham, Fatherland, premieres at the Manchester International Festival in July 2017.

WOW.

it certainly seems that those lucky enough to attend will get:

1) some form of improvised show
2) the long requested, and hoped for... 'non-dancey Underworld performance'

I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope this show will be recorded...

Re: 2017-03-17 Alexandra Palace

Well that hint/rumor/hope/leak/whipser that they might improv this show was more on the money than i could have imagined.

Have fun everyone!

Edit: if that remix used for the video is anything to go by, this will distinctly NOT be an ambient show. :P
