Hey thanks for that download! The file size was juuuuust small enough that I could get the full download. For some reason, I couldn't even get the entire youtube preview of the album (just the first 4-5 minutes)

I agree the hiHats are a bit loud... maybe a bit tinny. But that's got to be b/c it's a webrip

I actually think I prefer it to Strumpet.

"Strumpet" sounded like an improv to me. There were too many elements that were just like "Confusion the Waitress" ... especially when UW play "Born Slippy (Original)" right after "Confusion the Waitress".

This sounds more like a proper song. I disagree about the portion at 3:50. I thought the guitar in "Strumpet" matched less than this. Bird 1 is much more refined, Strumpet was a bit too loose... good for a live show (like as a bridge between tracks) but there was something *missing*

Completely agree.

"synth plop that goes for a snaredrum is downright annoying." x2.

Also, when we first heard this song live I thought it would be more energetic.

This was what i wanted to say! lol Synth plop.... Strumpet should of stayed Strumpet. I still think on the whole this will be a dam good album though....

Fuck yes, thanks!!!!!!!

Synth plop isn't that bad but a normal snare would fit more with the tune. Strumpet on cd2 will probably be much more like the old live version.

I'm gonna wait until I get my copy. Want more of a surprise for the whole thing and not hearing random track rips.

Forced to agree with everyone's remarks about Bird 1. I think the track could have been a lovely, understated bit of synth but those additions, though relatively subtle, make a pretty big difference. It's possible Bird 1 will grow on me but I fear Underworld's unbroken streak of killer album openers has been broken.

Yeah that squonky noise is kind of out of place, but other than that I really like what they did with this. It's not really that different from "Strumpet" and I don't know which one I prefer but I love the way the tension builds through the first 3 minutes here. I would disagree...this is a great album opener

I've said it once and I'll say it again: we're getting studio versions of both, so there's no reason to complain if you don't like what they did with a song. Just consider it a different track.
