Not underworld, but John Murphy's 'Kanada's Death' from the Sunshine soundtrack is regularly used by the BBC for World Athletics promo slots.

I was having lunch with my girlfriend at an Italian restaurant today, when suddenly Stagger could be heard from the kitchen (followed by Chemical Bros 'Where do I begin). :) Lovely

A few weeks ago I heard Ring Road mixed in with the opening strains of music for this movie. It was rather dramatic-sounding, mind, so I thought it was sort of odd.

There was a huge thread on the temporary Dark Train board about the stock sample that Ring Road uses, and how many places it's shown up. Looks like this is another.

Could you point me in the direction of it?

It's in that great bit bucket in the sky. IIRC, the temporary board was up when the forum moved servers. And then the original forums were restored, and all the temp stuff disappeared.

As for the content of that thread, I actually didn't read it, but I know we've had discussions about that sample showing up in the Family Guy Blue Harvest episode and in some Flash game online about a virus outbreak or something. And every once in a while, someone comes on and says "hey, I heard Ring Road in _______"

Edit: Here's a thread. Hilarity ensues:

http://www.darktrain.org/dirty/forum...ead.php?t=9071

This isn't the one I was talking about though. In that one there was some heated discussion about UW using the sample, I think.

Just heard the strings of Pearls Girl on a commercial for the University of Advanced Technology on G4TV. It's a 3D animation of a baby in the womb slowly rotating until you can see a gaming controller in its hands. Then the beats start up just in time for the end of the commercial. Nothing special, but it caught my attention.

Re: Underworld Spotting [Again]

Another one about a week ago, in a segment on a travel show about this insane restaurant in Los Angeles. It was a part about its "wild nightlife" (as if anything about it isn't wild) and they played, surprisingly enough, the opening beat of the original Born Slippy. I'm guessing somebody was looking for a "club hit" to play in the background, knew there was one with that title and managed, by some impossible chance, to stumble upon the original.

No UW music, but watching James May's Toy Stories and when he gets out a car, massive flyer for this years Glade festival with UW plastered across it.

Underworld Spotting Again

yeah without Kate Beckinsale, Len Wiseman, and Scott Speedman, I highly doubt I will like this movie. I will still give it a shot, but for me those three made underworld what it was.

There was a program on last night (don't know which channel) where Amanda Holden was learning to become a mid-wife in 6 weeks. As a baby was born, the ambient intro of Pearls Girl was playing - quite moving actually!

Sorry to go completely off-topic but I couldn't help wondering, is it "what makes u stick?", or "what makes us tick?" :o

Re: Underworld Spotting [Again]

'what makes us tick'.....although now you say it i think 'what makes u stick' is much more interesting!

'what makes us tick' is a tune of Biohazards 'State of the World Address' - a throwback to when I used go to gigs and jump around like a lunatic (unlike now where i go to gigs and its only my hands and occasionally my feet that i move around as i attempt to 'dance')!

Not strictly Underworld, but a piece of John Murphy music from Sunshine was just used in Topgear.

Watching the Olympics just now and as NBC was returning from a commercial, they played Beautiful Burnout as a lead in to Women's Cross Country Skiing.

Nice.

Can't remember the name of the show that More 4 are promoting, but Pearls Girl is playing in the background, well the main drum pattern is.

Nice.

Heard that too. I was in another room at the time, the track began playing, and it slowly dawned on me that "hey, those drums sound an awful lot like..."
...And then I rushed out into the other room.

I seem to be the only person spotting....

The other night on 'The One Show' there was a segment about OAP drivers, and the background music kept switching between Dark Train and a Prodigy track (I cant remember but I think it was Firestarter).

Maybe there's a fan at TV Asahi News or something, because 2 days after my last spot I heard a few bars of Trim in another news story. Forgot to post it at the time, but better late than never..
