Re: Oblivion with Bells
This Is Just Great News......I Agree, Oct Can't Come Faster
|
Re: Oblivion with Bells
oh man, what great news to start off the day!
Influence of Nick Drake on "Oblivion with Bells" = :D The cover art = :D It's like "Dubnobasswithmyheadman" meets Jackson Pollock! Classy and eyecatching. Great also to hear that Rick is feeling better! Hooray! |
Re: Oblivion with Bells
OK, I'm going to make a guess of what the tracklisting/sequencing will be:
1. Darc 2. (new track, first single) 3. (new track) 4. All These Things 5. (new track) 6. Small Conker And A Twix 7. You Do Scribble 8. Back in the Fears (full version) 9. (new track) 10. (new track) |
Re: Oblivion with Bells
All this begs the question . . . .
First single. Whennnnnnnnnnn???? (hopefully it's a long ep-like thing. like aulden tymes) |
Re: Oblivion with Bells
Wow. Wow.
Probably going to I Love Techno and the London show, although I probably have some mid-term exams then... Quote:

Re: Oblivion with Bells
I wouldnt be bothered if any of the new stuff we heard over the last few years wasn't on. We have copies of stuff via UWlive.......
|
Re: Oblivion with Bells
I have been waiting for ages to get this news. I am very happy that next saturday I 'll be able to buy my 10th ticket for Underworld....... yoehoeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee:D

Re: Oblivion with Bells
Oblivion with Gunz.
Who knows, I might even get to see UW performing for the first time in my life at the HMH in November :p |

Anywayyyyy such great news! Will be there at HMH & ILT for sure!!!! |
Re: Oblivion with Bells
When I saw UW at ILT 2 years ago I said I'll not return there if it was possible(price, poor sound quality excepted in the minimal room in my memories, and so on...).
But UW are back. I hope it will not be as the same time as Magda... |
Re: Oblivion with Bells
no no no...
my guess the album will be like this: Darc All These Things Small Conker And A Twix You Do Scribble ...followed by a massive 40 minute long version of "Five Points" (just listened to it again for the first time in like... maybe a year, and I still love it) Quote:

Re: Oblivion with Bells
im going on a limb and saying we'll have only heard ONE of the tracks on the new album (before the tour, of course.)
That meaning, of alllll those songs we've heard live over the past 5 years only one will make the album. What fun would it be to have waited 5 years to hear what we've already heard? |
Re: Oblivion with Bells
i could see /hope for two: always loved a film and you do scribble
those are both amazing and need proper studio release or at least the should release 256kbs versions of the tracks not on albumn on uwlive.com like the river run songs... so many i want to hear with vitality compared to via the live recordings |
Re: Oblivion with Bells
what about "allthesethings" on the album AND as a first single/extended ep (thinking born slippy nuxx, etc) along with some of these other tracks we've been hearing but in remixed or other versions from what we've already heard (yardbeat especially) . . . . what selectas might call a DEEfrent stye and Fa-SHONE!
i know i know. dreemin. |

Re: Oblivion with Bells
I would be suprised if any of those tracks will be on the album - considering some of them are nearly 3 years old...
Remember when AHDO came out, everyone was like "i want that unknow track from Electraglide" and "i think 5 points will be on the album" - every track that was on it was an unheard track before then... If people have heard it already, why would they want to put it on the album? Just trying to manage expectations here ;) Mike |
Re: Oblivion with Bells
maybe some of the much loved live tracks like All These Things and Darc will end up as b-sides on singles, much like Tiny Clicks and Ansum did from the AHDO era.
just a thought, despite my love for All These Things, especially from that debut at the Zurich show in 05. Another song that has been coming to mind is the opening track from the show on 11.11.05 in Luxembourg(the one janie recorded), the Vocoder-Guitar Track that was never aptly titled and lasted about five minutes before bleeding into Mmm...skyscrapper. |
Re: Oblivion with Bells
Before RiverRun, they mentioned they had something like 180 tracks they had worked up over the past few years? Bring on the new ones! :D

Re: Oblivion with Bells
yeah as much as I would like to hear finished studio versions of a lot of the new tracks we've been hearing over the past few years, I think it might be kinda dissapointing if a big part of the album was stuff we'd hear already in some form or another.
I hope some will make it to b-sides or EP's though. Tracks like Darc, All These Things, You Do Scribble and Always Loved A Film are simply too good to remain only as bootlegs. If there was one of those tracks that I think should be on the album I think it should be either Darc or All These Things though. |
Re: Oblivion with Bells
personally, i hope this new album is just a compilation of all of the brilliant Born Slippy Nuxx remixes that there have been in the past and some newly worked versions of that classic underrated song
for me that would be bliss... then i hope that the tour would comprise of Uw doing every version of Born Slippy live for 2 hours... you can surely never get enough of this song... ;) |
Re: Oblivion with Bells
can't hardly wait for it. great news..

And you're right, the vibe is pretty good there, even though it's so big. And there's always a good line up. Also, last year I got to ILT by a "partybus" ride. I believe it was like 70 euro's for the ride and the ticket was included. It kicked ass because we met all kinds of people in the bus and got drunk. Although then I had to take a piss but the bus never stopped before we got to the Flanders Expo. |
Re: Oblivion with Bells
I'm going to show up at Red Rocks Denver like fifteen hours early and be the first in front of the stage. Literally, no one knows how much it means to me to UW live for the first time. I've been bellyaching for years about not seeing them, and saying that if I have to fly to England to do so, I would do it. Now they're coming just one state away from me, and I'm so psyched.
I think that the new album will be fantastic. The cover looks very "dubnobass" to me, and with the way the UW sound has been progressing, I think this is going to be a lovely release. I can't wait, all I can say is thank you to the boys and I eagerly await October. |
Re: Oblivion with Bells
october 2002...my first UW gig , Toronto.
october 2007...Oblivion with bells on sale. november 9/10 2007... back to back UW gigs in Amsterdam and Belgium. its been so great so far, but the next 4 to 5 months are going to be the hardest for me to contain myself. :) |
Tracklisting Oblivion with Bells ???????
I found this on a forum. I think it's a joke or so, because most of these tracks are unknown to me... But again: Underworld could suprise us with completly new tracks instead of the ones we've heared on their live shows. We just don't know what the guys are doing in their studio ;-)
On the other site: i would be stupid not te have tested tracks earlier in their live shows... Let me know what you think??? Re: Oblivion with Bells - tracklisting ????
Hmmm. Most of those track titles are awful. Here's hoping it's a joke.
|
Re: Oblivion with Bells
oh haha that was me.
it's all real though. post edited several times |
Re: Oblivion with Bells
And your source for this is . . . reliable? Your comments about Beautiful Burnout imply that you've actually heard it?
|
Re: Oblivion with Bells
i wasn't able to access dirty for most of the day today (don't know why) but i assumed it was posted there and all was chaos or something so i just settled for posting it on atease.
i'd say it's credible short of an uncharacteristically sadistic mean streak. it is bugging me that it's not posted here though. |
Re: Oblivion with Bells
Was this the source?
http://www.iloud.jp/special/oblivion_with_bells.php It appears to be pulled for now. Anyway, to comment on the track titles themselves, "Beautiful Burnout" is "Biro the Leggy", of course. "Holding the Moth" is a line from "Globe", so perhaps it's a rework of "Globe"? "To Heal" would perhaps be "To Heal and Restore" from last year's radio webcast and Sunshine? |
Re: Oblivion with Bells
no, better (or worse)
i think i should just keep quiet now. DAMMIT, WHY WASN'T IT POSTED HERE. i feel like i broke a rule or something. |

Re: Oblivion with Bells
Beautiful Burnout was named after me :p
Seriously, it's a line from Biro the Leggy, which they have played on and off for a while, most recently at Cocoon last October. I heard this tracklist was a prank. Dunno whether it is or not and I guess we won't know until the album goes on presale? |
