Michael Jackson Live in Bucharest video - Working Day&Night, Beat It and I´ll Be There

What a performance! Is he only shamming at the end of I´ll Be There? Wonder why...

I´m still grieved about that I´ve "discovered" him only after his dead.
I mean I´ve heard about him of course but I didn´t even know he was singing as a child.
Quite impressive work I must say and I think more unreleased stuff is on the way.

I am kind of the same way. I owned Michael's "big 3" (bought them for a buck a piece at a used LP store) and liked them but there was always sort of a taboo around the guy. If you ever tried to play his music at a party people would mock you because of the constant bizarre scandals he was always in...my generation was not around for Thriller so we always found it easier to talk about MJ the person as opposed to the musician. When he died it suddenly became okay again to play his music and lo and behold you would hear just about every MJ hit every time you stepped into a bar or club. Which I didn't mind. I always found some of his bigger hits like "Billie Jean", "Beat It", and "Bad" to be kind of overrated. To me songs like "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough", "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" and "Shake Your Body Down to the Ground" were pure perfection. I mean I always knew that "I Want You Back" was a perfect pop song but I was kind of amazed to find out how many great parts there were in "Don't Stop..". Like, everything about the song is amazing.

Oh, that´s a master piece indeed.
Sometimes it´s hard to believe he is dead. God bless him!

Ha..ha.. I just have to tell you a funny story about Wanna Be Stratin´ Somethin´....
Every time I hear the lines "mama se, mama sa, ma ma coosa" I´m thinking of my time at a company called Lemon Planet and an old colleague of mine who often taunted me by calling me "mama coosa" after I became a stepmother in 2002 (I have no own children).
My last name is Kósa, spells Kosa and pronounces like "coosa" in Sweden, so my colleague used to call me "mama coosa".

I think Wanna Be Stratin´ Somethin´ will be the fav of the day :D

"Lift Your Head Up High
And Scream Out To The World
I Know I Am Someone
And Let The Truth Unfurl
No One Can Hurt You Now
Because You Know What's True
Yes, I Believe In Me
So You Believe In You
Help Me Sing It,
mama se, mama sa, mama coo sa
mama se, mama sa, ma ma coosa"

Today's favorite: YMO - "1000 knives" (in honor of the thread I just created). Absolutely sick 808 beats on that one and a twisted synth/guitar solo..somehow it just made me geek out. It's synthesizer heaven.

"K2 (Ruckzuck)" from Kraftwerk's 1971 "Bremen Radio" performance (bootleg here: http://www.eggcityradio.com/?p=115)

The band is Schneider, Klaus Dinger, and Michael Rother...Hutter had quit the band for six months. The resulting lineup did not record any albums but they were incredible live. Dinger and Rother as you may know went on to form Neu!, one of the most influential bands of all time. Great bootleg, very jam-heavy but it pretty much entirely rules, especially "Ruckzuck"...check it out :)

Re: Favourite song of the day

Just another unreleased song from MJ http://breakingnews.michaeljackson.com/DE_CH_AT/

"Cause I been there before and you've been there before,
But together we can be alright. (alright) (yeah)
Cause when it gets dark and when it gets cold we hold
Each other till we see the sunlight.

So if you just hold my hand, baby, I promise that I'll do all I can
Things will get better if you just hold my hand
Nothing can come between us if you just hold, hold my, hold, hold my, hold my hand, hold my hand."
