Haha, nice. I got a $24 room at Terrible's, a half block from the venue.
So, yes, I've got airlines and hotels booked for Honolulu -> Las Vegas -> Oakland -> Los Angeles -> Honolulu. Anyone else hitting all 3?

So, turns out The Joint is newly renovated and just opened last month. Between this and the Fox Theatre in Oakland having opened in February, it sounds like we're getting some killer venues for these shows.

I especially like the "state-of-the-art sound system" part of the new Joint.

The hard rock hotel is also adding some new towers where one of them (paradise tower) should open up in early august. Made reservations already and I hope to land one of the new rooms when I'm there.

I'd like some advise, gentlemen. On the Ticketmaster page for this show, there are multiple "seating" options, some for $246, $146 and $35. I assume general admission (i.e. on the floor, by the stage or wherever as opposed to a raised seating area elsewhere) is the $35 ticket, but I want to be sure before buying a few for my friends and I. What did you guys buy?
bas_I_am

there are multiple "seating" options, some for $246, $146 and $35.
while it lists those other prices, there are no tickets available beyond the 35.
if you search for them, it comes back "Sorry, no exact matches were found, but other tickets may still be available."
the notes do say you can call the venue to inquire about vip seating. I believe that would be table service in the upper balcony with drink/food minimum, but I could be wrong. so to answer your question, I got the $35 dollar tix

Here now, got here this morning.
Talked to the door man/bouncers out "The Joint" and they say that the doors will open around 6/6:30pm. And that almost every show @ "The Joint" has sold out. Capacity is 5000 for SRO shows.
(Heads up to all)
Security for shows here is looks TIGHT. They say that cameras are cool, but nothing else and they said they search everyone.
But is looks sweet as hell in there. Got to watch them test lights for 4 minutes until they kicked me out.
24 hours now!
P.S. - If you are here now & see a shaved head bald guy with a Red Amish/Abe Lincoln beard in shorts with tattoos on both of his legs, that's me.

This was according to a Doorman that stands there to keep people out while nothing is going on.
He and the ticket lady(Take that for what its worth?!?) say they open the doors early becuase they try and line up everyone inside the hotel.
The music is still to start at 9-ish.

It's quite a treat to be reading these posts...we won't have to wait for a proper setlist to trickle in, and catch all the transition loops dropped in. And we'll probably get some clips on YouTube from the show besides NUXX.

Wow. What a set. I was always kind of skeptical that UW read the requests, but I'm a believer now. I got my "Kittens" and "Spikee". THANK YOU! The only thing missing was Juanita, and that was on the "sparing" list. I don't know if that means it was a possible substitute song or possible additional songs if they had time. Perhaps everyone will get Juanita tomorrow in Oakland.
Another thing to say. Fucking CUPS! Has it even been played live since the Beaucoup Fish tour? I was recently thinking of starting a thread about retired live songs (Cups, Dinosaur Adventure 3D, and Bruce Lee come to mind). But Cups is such a good one, it would've been my 4th request in the requests thread. But I didn't list it because I figured it was unlikely to be played at any point. And then they go and do this killer Cups/Push Upstairs mix tonight! It's eerie; it's like Rick is in my head.
Lots of Beaucoup Fish songs tonight. No Oblivion with Bells and only one from AHDO. But there were a lot of non-album songs played tonight. I was actually worried that they would play a greatest hits type setlist like they had for the festivals last month. I should not have doubted. There were lots of rarities and lesser played songs, and just the right amount of hits songs. Thank you for taking care of your hardcore fans, UW!
Unfortunately, the venue was only about half full, but we still had a pretty good time. People weren't as responsive to some of the songs, but the overall reception was pretty good.
Setlist:
1. Intro
2. Dirty Epic
3. Bamboo
4. Rez/Cowgirl
5. Kittens
6. King of Snake
7. Small Conker and a Twix
8. You Do Scribble
9. Between Stars
10. Born Slippy .NUXX/Monkey Wink
11. Two Months Off
12. Diamond Jigsaw
13. Spikee
14. Cups/Push Upstairs
15. Jumbo
16. Moaner
Between Stars and Diamond Jigsaw got pretty good dancing receptions, considering that no one knew the songs.
At the end of one of the songs (NUXX maybe?), Karl came up behind Darren and turned his headphones sideways on his head.
For Spikee, I'm really glad the guitar has made a return to the song. For tonight's rendition though, Karl left the stage, so we didn't get any lyrics.
When they set up the haphazard Inflatables configuration, they added a few new ones that I haven't seen before. They are 33% longer than the typical Inflatable. Make of that what you will.
That's it for me. It was nice to meeting the Dirts at dinner tonight, and additional Dirts at the show. Off to bed now, early flight tomorrow to Oakland.

Great show! It was all dance stuff last night, as you can see from the setlist, which is exactly what I wanted. The crowd seemed a bit dead in terms of movement but you could tell there were loads of hardcore fans there.
Got to hear Spikee for the first time in person, that was a great moment, but it included the guitar outro that I have never heard on any live recording! I lost my mind.
I guess that was my 8th or 9th time seeing Underworld. At the airport now to see them in Oakland later tonight. Then back home to L.A.!

It was great meeting various dirts and I am stoked about tonight's OAK show. I'm really hoping that LV was the dress rehearsal for tonight's live streaming show. :)
Also, the opening DJ was pretty good. I wish there had been more people dancing for him. Then again, since there weren't it was easy to get a spot up front for the rest of the show. ;)

DISCLAIMER:
As anyone who was at the show knows, the venue does not allow video recording. If they caught you, they made you leave and bag check your camera, then you could come back in.
I was right against the stage, just left of center (My wife and I were standing next to bas_i_am & his crew). I had a bouncer right in front of me. It made it hard to record. So these clips aren't long.
YouTube doesn't do them justice as far as vid quality, but the sound is great! Especially because I only used my little sony cybershot DSC-W150.

WoW. What a first show that was. I really can't stop thinking about it. The show was great, the sound was just right, and there were no whistles within ear's reach. It was such an amazing first show to go to, and was really cool meeting all you dirties. After listening to these guys since 1993, i can't believe this is the first time I have seen them. I'm hooked. Also, have you seen all the high quality vids on you tube? awesome awesome! if anyone has any high quality pics from the show they are willing to share, please PM me and i'll be happy to work something out for you to email me them so i can print them up/blow them up. my camera died just when lazarous ended.
Geoff- you keep motorboating!
Robbin - thanks for the brauts and brew!

At the end of one of the songs (NUXX maybe?), Karl came up behind Darren and turned his headphones sideways on his head.

Been a few days since the show, now I'm just catching up on pictures/video/nostalgic things. Seeing UW makes me feel right and inspired again.
It was great meeting all you dirties: Todd (for the second time), Jeremy, Robin, Spencer, Jason. I had an awesome time with you all. Look me up if you're ever in the Denver area. Jason, PM me if you want to hang out some time!
And to the girl who had Underneath the Radar on cassette tape, I hope you realize your picture is in the slideshow of this article! http://www.lasvegasweekly.com/blogs/off-the-record/2009/aug/08/10-things-missed-underworld-thurs/ I was standing right behind you! (And yes I still think I might "be in love with you" ;) LOL!)

Finally got around to organizing my photos from this gig. Think I managed to get a few worthwhile shots.

I had a great bootleg of this show that's somehow disappeared from my drive, and doesn't seem to be on RTSR. Any help?

Unseeded torrents are eventually marked as "Dead". You can include dead torrents with the checkbox on the Search page.
A bunch of torrents are currently dead because both jetpig and my seedboxes are offline. Mine should be back online soon, hopefully within a coupld weeks.
