I used to post a long time ago under the moniker Bruce Lee, but no one would send me the password I forgot. I check this sitte ten times a day looking for news of UW coming to US. PLEASE! WE LOVE YOU TOO, NOT JUST EUROPE AND ASIA!!!!
Can anyone suggest any good Drum and Bass I should check out? My current favorites are Underworld, Amon Tobin, DJ? Acucrack. I don't know if they qualify as DnB. I bought a triple cd set called A Clubber's Guide to DnB and like a lot of it but some of it too rap oriented. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
On another note, can any tell me where I could find an MP3 version of Dinosaur Adventure 3-D (the 12 min remix only available on the promo). I have bid and won the promo twice but one of the sellers lost their account and the third one wouldn't return my e-mails after I won it for $0.25. Please,
Hi !

hmm... which is the 12 min remix? Is it just an extended version of the album mix? I thought I had all of them between cd and 12"....
but I mean - the classic dn'b album is this (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000001EYA/qid=1124743461/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-0939508-2256903?v=glance&s=music&n=507846) -> which is an incredible double disc album
and I'm not 100% sure if this is the right mix, as there's no cover art shown, but this should be my favorite disc by LTJ Bukem (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000007RYF/ref=m_art_li_17/102-0939508-2256903?v=glance&s=music)

Roni Size is a good album - Brown Paper Bag being a class hit in the clubs way back in the day.
The truest form of production Drum and Bass has to be this click (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00004T4B1/ref=pd_sim_music_3/102-1030912-6701729?v=glance&s=music&n=507846).
He did enlist the help of the Omni Trio (alledgedly, they programmed all the drums....) but I really do love this album. A true drum and bass epic.

BTW - Completely agree with you on the Bukem album - sweet as a nut.;)
Earth vol 1 and 2 are also very good as well as anything produced by Blame.

Klute is a good one i'm getting into. Haven't got around to picking up his earlier albums, but Lie Cheat & Steal and No one's Listening Anymore offers excellent drum'n bass (and each with a bonus disc of middle-of-the-road electro/techno too!)
and i found Nu:tone's album more impressive than that recent High Contrast album people were raving about, both from the same Hospital records. But then I'm one of the very few people who prefer High Contrast's True Colours to High Society, so I may be a freak.

I also bought these:
Dieselboy: Dungeon Master's Guide (Limited Edition 2xcd)
BT: ima (2 disk set)
I appreciate the suggestions and love the Dieselboy and BT. I can't wait to hear the one's I have coming in the mail. I bought that Squarepusher because one of the reviews said that one was the best intro to them to start with.

mainly because I noticed that a Roni Size song that is 10 years old uses a sample that was 13 years old at the time.

Well since its at the beginning of this two year old topic...
Anyone else get the new DJ? Acucrack album, "Humanoids From the Deep". I really like it and played the hell out of it. They also did a remix for Front Line Assembly's latest remix disc that's pretty sweet.
I was also really disappointed buy Photek's F&F II at first, but after a few listens I decided if I thought about it as just a DnB album it was pretty good. Just sub-par for him.
for old-school style Photek with an emo haircut, get the new Fanu album Daylightless. Thanks for the recommendation. That album is great!
a few mixes i've been enjoying lately:

I think Plug's "Drum 'n' Bass For Papa" is my favorite overall drum and bass album. A little on the darker sounding side, but kind of tongue in cheek about it, too.

this (http://www.breaksblog.biz/dissident-spare-senses-vol-6-studio-mix-012008/) mix has been rocking my world lately. it really shows how d&b has evolved in the 2000s (even if basically no one was listening).

i think one of the best DnB mixes i have ever heard has come from a member of this board.
'Tribal Duckie'/ Evergreen. his first mix he posted was, still is awesome.
Plug - Drum 'n' Bass for Papa + Plug EP's 1, 2 & 3
There can't be a better drum 'n' bass album than this.

Well, aside from the first Reprazent album, for me, Klute's Lie Cheat and Steal comes close. Every tune a gem, on the more melodic, dare we say liquid side of things.

can't be arsed to check if he's mentioned yet, but Germany's Martsman (http://www.myspace.com/martsman) is one hell of a producer. incredibly sharp, sci-fi tainted d&b, which also dips occasionally deep into the realms of dubstep.
Here's a mix (http://www.bitterbrew.com/detuned-feb-15-2008.mp3) consisiting of mostly his own work, and one of my favourite d&b mixes of the last year.
Bought:
Noise and Paradox - Transmograpfication
Paradox - The Musician as Outsider
Paradox - What They Don't Know
Nucleus & Paradox - Esoteric Funk
Those are excellent Drumfunk albums. Check out this mix (http://www.darktrain.org/dirty/forums/showpost.php?p=86928&postcount=31).
Also:
Plug - Drum 'n' Bass for Papa
The original version with The Life of the Mind, Subtle (In your face) and Cut. Awesome.
Photek - Modus Operandi
the Japanese version with Ni Ten Ichi Ryu.
and
Goldie - Timeless
Roni Size Reprazent - New Forms
because they got recommended so much.
