I wouldnt say it was totally awesome but the setlist on paper was excellent. Karl seemed to be having an offday as far as timing and concentration was concerned and King Of Snake and Crocodile's timing where he was coming in with vocals seemed forced. For TMO it seemed like he was concentrating hard to get it right.

However, the rest of the set was great and I like the idea of putting the mixing desks facing each other. It took a while before Rick was smiling but he was very busy and the gig really flowed with rarely a break to applause. Overall, a fantastic gig with few hiccups.

disc 1 tracklist

1 - Glam Bucket/Dark & Long
2 - Beautiful Burnout
3 - Can U Feel This Bass/Pearl's Girl
4 - Born Slippy Nuxx
5 - improv/King Of Snake
6 - Jumbo
7 - Born Slippy original/breakbeat version
8 - Rotterdam Poem

disc 2 tracklist:

1 - Crocodile
2 - improv/Deep Arch
3 - 5 Foot 5/Air Towel/Mowed Path
4 - Dark Train
5 - Two Months Off
6 - Cowgirl/Rez

All in all, a great gig at a great location (immense converted grain silo in the Rotterdam harbour area, very industrial). It definitely seems that Underworld took some of the recent criticisms to heart and so they played some more old and less well-known stuff, as well as change the order of tracks around a bit. So we got Nuxx quite early in the gig (which was good because dutch crowds tend to need something banging like that to get them going ;)) and Cowgirl/Rez as encore instead of Moaner or Jumbo. There was more mixing and improvising again as well. The second half had an amazing and pretty much continuous jam of Deep Arch/5 foot 5/Air Towel/Mowed Path and Dark Train and this was definitely my highlight of the set. Oh and Born Slippy original of course!!

Look out for the little drawings on Spoonman, Cherry Pie, Glam [BUCKET] and Sola Sistim :)

And there are even strips for RingRoad and OichOich!

Nice to know they've still got the strip for Darc hanging around... :p

I've always been interested in how the names for UW songs seem to "evolve" as time goes by. The strips for "Eager Hot One" and "Globe" are telling... maybe they secretly like those names better?
