Mylo has thrown together a "mash-up" of sorts with his classic "Drop the Pressure" and the 80's pop stormer by Gloria Estefan and The Miami Sound Machine - Dr. Beat.

Heard it on way back fro work this evening.

Ally - I presume you know about this months ago????

Check it - I think that is is quality witha capital Kw.......

Two guys i know from the Orbital forum made this mashup. One of them is Dog who also worked on the Prodigy and Chem Bros remixed projects. The other is Philmanns. I've known these guys for about 4 years. They handed this to Mylo himself at a gig he did in Brighton (which is why he thinks they are from Brighton) but theyre London based. Their mix is on the CD and the original bootleg 12" is going for a pretty penny on ebay if you can find it. I wish them all the luck with this one.

If anyone's seen Lemon Jelly recently, I believe Mr Manns is identified by the duck he carries on the end of a stick...

yes, Mylo took the Phil and Dog bootleg and recreated it, virtually unchanged, and is releasing it under his name, with them being credited for the idea on the sleeve, as i understand it.

yeah thats right. he drove over for the amsterdam lemon jelly a couple of years back and stayed over at mine. top gig! i remember glasto 2003 (i think) when someone else showed up with the duck on a stick and the band thought it was him! imposters!

about the bootleg: there should be a thread on the Loopz forum rambling on about it somewhere, go have a look.

There's a radio-friendly mix using the age-old "funk" cop-out (too many hyphens Ally...). Like that Black Eyed Peas song that's out... no way is it "funk" that she says.

Class  works really well i think, the videos good as well.... i think theres a bit of ironicism in the title as mylo gave up his P.hD to write music but we all know he is a Doctor of sound now !!!!:D

Nice to see a fellow scientist destroying the sound system

Yeah agreed on that one - there was no way it was ever going to have the impact Drop The Pressure had, like at T In The Park last year when no-one had heard of Mylo.

Guys - I admit it, this track has been caned to the max, but when I first heard it waaay back in the summer, I really liked it.

I mean Drop the Pressure is fucking class, and I'm into my cheesy mash-up, quirky takes on 80's tunes when I'm out on the piss, so yeah I dug it for a while.

It was always going to have a shelf-life of approx 2 weeks (back in August).

Yeah likewise :) Had a couple of "waah!" moments at Leeds when it got dropped at one of the numerous guerilla raves.
