song that made me believe again in the power and feeling of the MUSIC . (this is cause I was kinda dissapointed by some new releases and repetitive sounds).

arcade fire - neighbourhood #2 (laika)

I almost cry and get overexcite whenever I listen to it

their single which i think is called "rebellion (lies)" is on heavy rotation on mtv2 over here and must say i'm very impressed with it, although its the only thing i've heard. Defo a band i want to catch live

Everyone should "defo" catch them live.

I saw them earlier this year and they put on a great show. Seven people crammed onto on small stage jamming on their instruments and singing thier hearts out making this enormous raw emotional wall of sound. Fantastic. The overly indie-hipster crowd seemed to really like the drummer because he looked like Napolean Dynamite and started hitting everything with drumsticks.

I ripped a copy of the album and got free tickets to the show from my radio station, so I essentially supported the band zero percent. Whoops.

yeah, defo [:D] a great band.
Power Out is my fav.
i love watching videos of them live, especially when they just start to go nuts, hitting EVERYTHING, even each other!
appearently, they will be in Australia in December. i hope this is true

Neighbourhood 2 isn't one of my very favourites on the album, but it's a fucking great record nonetheless. A couple of tracks near the end are a little average but otherwise the rest is fantastic.

i don't like them. i tried really hard to get into them after they appeared in most top-lists last year, but still.....maybe i tried too hard.

i think what's really drawn me into The Arcade Fire is the subject matter running throughout their stuff (i.e. nostalgia over childhood, growing up, etc.). there's some very poignant writing on Funeral.

The Go! Team are fun. not really comparable lyrically though.

The Go! Team have done this for me.
that's what I wanted to know.

The point here when starting this thread, was precisely to let us know what song/singer/album and so on... made us feel something different from the other music.

i was bummed out about music for a while until i bought the new gorillaz albumn. that albumn really made me excited for music again... the albumn before that was the out hud albumn and grand national... that has basically been the last year of insiring music for me. (plus i got into the dandy warhols a lot, but their older albumns)

Arcade Fire: Just don't get it. Not bad, but I don't like their sound.
The Go! Team: Interesting sound but limited and the various songs don't have their own personality.

Lately I've been geeking on 'Anywhere on this Road' by Lhasa.
