i haven't loved his last couple albums but scales is fun and satisfying without being campy or obtuse like Plat Du Jour. it doesn't best Around the House or the Roisin Murphy album but if you're a fan of Herbert anyway, absolutely get this album. I'd buy the cd or vinyl though cuz the packaging is sweet.

I really like this album. Haven't heard much of his other stuff but this one certainly doesn't sound campy.

Here's the Pitchfork review (http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/record-reviews/h/herbert/scale.shtml)
