Hoping it's good! The "split sides" ep was kinda drab, as was much of Hlemmer. But they sure are capable of excellence!

Well they were the best act I managed to see at Glasto 03 and were brilliant when I saw them before that in Toronto. They really do a good job of capturing the abundance of catharthis available from their material to make their sets come across as a modern form of opera. Highly recomended!

I've seen them 4 times and each time it's been a really wonderful experience. They've always been expensive, but I've found it to be worth it because they create this really rare atmosphere. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it's just an intense, positive feeling. Plus, their audiences (especially on the first US tour) tend to be very quiet until the song is over, which is an odd thing to witness at a rock-based show. And I like 'Takk' as a title. It tends to be the only word they ever say at their shows and sadly the only word I understand by them.

Saw them in 2003 in Philadelphia. The Album Leaf opened, and got everyone in a good vibe. Sigur Ros then proceded to make a beautiful noise for the next 2 hours. The encore was so powerful and loud that the ushers at the theater were all gathering in the aisles to see what was going on (and i'm sure they've heard plenty of loud bands before...just none like this!)
Cool that "Gong" is going to be on the new album. That song rocked live.

Yeah, I've seen them three times in Vancouver, and each time I was blown away. Don't pass up the opportunity!!

"takk..." is a very nice title, like they're thanking the fans :)
can't wait until september....
as for seeing them live: like others stated, they create a very unique athmosphere, with everybody just standing (you can't really dance to the sigur, can you?) and ones mind beeing taken on a journey... simply astounding!
go see them, if you can!

Sigur Rós are a beyond brilliant band. They always remind me of the 1968-70 era Pink Floyd, when you got into the venue for seeing a concert but in the end you came out with a different kind of thinking.
