ok, i've given up with the Bond poll, basically due to lack of enthusiasm...had there been more votes i might have continued....
anyway I wanted to ask you James Bond fans another question...
in the last movie, Die Another Day being as it was the 20th movie, they referenced a lot of the previous Bond movies in sneaky ways, and i wondered if they covered them all...??
so can you identify what parts of the DAD movie were references to other movies...
off the top of my head (having just seen the re-run on TV this week) these are what i remembered:
Dr No - is nodded to by Halle Berry coming out of the sea in a Bikini a la Ursula Andress, with knife strapped to the leg...
Gustav Graves says 'after all Diamonds are For everyone'
the Jinx 'laser torture' sequence is similar to the one in Goldfinger - the Aston is also a throwback to Goldfinger...even being equipped with ejector seat and front mounted machine guns...
in Q's lab under the Thames, there are several references to older Bond movies, including the Crocodile sub from Octopussy plus the Acro-Star Jet Plane (from start of the Octopussy) is also hanging on the wall, the Bell-Textron jetpack from Thunderball is in full working order (still!)
There is also a shoe with knife in the front, that i think is from From Russia with Love
the cheesy iceberg surfing sequence is a reference to the opening of Tomorrow Never Dies where Bond surfs in...(i think)
Bond takes a moment to sample a grape when leaving the clinic - similar to a scene in Thunderball
Gustav Graves arrives at Buckingham Palace with a Union Jack parachute, a nod to The Spy Who Loved Me
the laser watch Bond uses is similar to the one he uses in Goldeneye
well thats all i can recall at the minute....so did they reference every Bond movie in one way or other, either in dialogue or subliminal placements...in Die another Day?
any ideas guys...??
if you can remember any more...post them for me...thanks ;)
