lots of bands were mentioned on another thread around here somewhere, but i was quite excited to find out the rather excellent delays are releasing the follow up to their debut lp faded seaside glamour in march :)

after that crappy think tank release..Think Tank wasn't so horrible, I think. "Ambulance" is as good as anything they've ever done, in my opinion, and I also like some of the other tracks like "Caravan," "Out Of Time," and "On The Way To The Club." But "Jets" was absolute shit. As for the thread topic, I think I'm just looking forward to the Underworld album. There are a few I've heard about that I might get (another New Order album), but none that really have me on the edge of my seat.

Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan - Ballad Of Broken Seas (January 30th)
I will have to look into this. I had no idea, and it should be interesting.
But Travis? Now that's a release date to cower under the duvet and avoid.

Yeah, there was meant to be an EP out before the end of 2005, but once again we heard nothing. Fingers crossed for some sort of release this year, and yes, fingers crossed it's better than Think Tank which, despite three or four decent tracks, was largely an atrocity.
But Travis? Now that's a release date to cower under the duvet and avoid. Unless you happen to like Travis, of course. I think their last album is fabulous, I just hope they continue in that vein rather than doing another Invisible Band.

Not sure exactly - word is that the band are doing a lot of the vocal work. Just gonna grab a link to new material....

I don't know, Aphex has often stated that he only releases music for the money, and that whole limited edition Analord business probably gave him enough to keep himself supplied with booze and hookers for another few years. I wouldn't get my hopes up about Portishead, either. Was it 2003 or 2004 when the new album was supposed to come out? It even had a title and was already listed on allmusic.com, and then it disappeared.

At this point in time, in regards to subject at hand, RADIOHEAD is all that matters.
Message to Head's PR if any: keep the bad news, which we are all aware of to a minimum. Your listeners need a pep talk to tread through the next couple years.

You sure? Its also been said by RDJ he has enough money to live on and doesnt need to make any mor music, add to the list that his last albm was gonna be on 36"! I even spoke to a journalist who switched off a tape machine and called him a twat during an interview as he just wouldnt give straight answers.
They'll probably be something from him, god knows in what form and what name!

Anybody else worried that this is going to be the first record that Radiohead has done without Nigel Godrich since The Bends?
Must I remind everyone how bad Pablo Honey was? Must I also remind everyone how poorly-produced Travis' album, 12 Memories, was.. after the greatness that was The Man Who and The Invisible Band?

But cant you remember when it was made? They'd just started off and only got to work with Godrich based on the success of Creep. Pablo hony does have some good little tracks on. I love Thinking About You and Lurgee
