Wasn't quite sure where to put this so treatment seemed most fitting.

Ricky Gervais on Guardian Unlimited

Starting Monday December 5 2005: Ricky Gervais on Guardian Unlimited, an exclusive series of podcasts that will tackle, finally, the big questions.

Such as: "Jellyfish - do we need them"? And: "Why do you never see an old bloke eating a Twix"?

The brand-new series of 30-minute audio programmes will see Gervais joined by writing partner Stephen Merchant and the man Gervais calls "the funniest man alive", Karl Pilkington. "The trouble is," adds Gervais, "he doesn't know he's being funny".

Does anyone have the first two episodes of "the ricky gervais show"?

I heard about this too late and episode one and two are no longer hosted on any servers.

Speaking of Gervais, I can't believe that this (http://www.nbc.com/The_Office/)was made! Poor Americans are thinking this show is great, but I can't see it ever comparing to the original. I doubt people even know that this is a rip off.:(

Did you know that Gervais and Merchant are involved in the US version as exec. producers?

actually, this second season of the show they have really grown into their own and the show is pretty freakin hilarious. The first season started off uneven, especially with the direct translation of the pilot script, but by now the characters have pretty successfully grown apart from their British counterparts... Steve Carell plays a much different loser manager than Gervais does and the episodes are pretty great. I'd now rate it on par with the british series... but of course there's like 22 episodes this season so that's awesome.

After Arrested Development this is currently my favorite sitcom on tv.

the show's been on for two years, it was widely publicized that it was based on a uk show, gervais and merchant are executive producers and despite the high standard it's compared to, it's pretty freakin hilarious.

seems to me that you are the one who should be pitied, what with your obvious ignorance and intolerance

here here. I would also throw the simpsons on that list despite the inconsistent nature of quality from episode to episode.

If NBC really wanted to make a solid hour of TV they would pick up AD and run it leading into or following the Office. That might be a bit too much for some viewers but it would be a damn enjoyable hour of TV.

The second season has really gotten onto a nice rhythmn as of these past few episodes too. I wonder how much more of the storylines from the BBC version they will be using for the remainder of the season.

I didn't know that. But I don't watch TV either, I only happened to catch an ad for it, while at someones house.

And when I mentioned that it was a BBC show, no one knew what I was talking about (Riko).
