"Sense Mapping", recorded by Mental Health Consumer during a typically hot, Texas summer, was in fact inspired by locations and memories many miles (and continents) away. The title refers both to neuroscience (a sensory map is how our brain responds to sensory stimuli) as well as the novel creation of maps that are not visual, but with places located by other senses, in this case, sound.

Hazy ambience, emotive guitar melodies, and field recordings are punctuated by intricate beats and layers of synth. Originally recorded in 2013 (plans for a release fell by the wayside, might as well share later than never) - perhaps this record evokes nostalgia for different times, spaces, and sensations...or maybe it's just a dated record that wasn't released for valid reasons! I dunno, i quite like it and think it holds up, at least emotively.
