On Wednesday (in 48 hours), Underworld is performing on 6 Music Live:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/events/ef5wrz
The program runs 3 hours from 10:00 - 13:00 BST (02:00-05:00 PDT). Based on Johnny Marr's session today, the actual performance happens in the 3rd hour, but there are interviews and other stuff with the artists in the 2 hour lead-up.
There will be live audio AND video streaming on 6 Music's website. The video is NOT region restricted (rejoice!). You'll be able to find the streaming links at the link above, or at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music
on the day of the broadcast.
If you miss the broadcast, the audio will be available online afterwards, but I think the full video will only be available live. There will be selected tracks and highlights available for video streaming afterwards, but not the full session. More info here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/5WkNqhdzvstQ7NszWJXfsKz/how-to-watch-and-listen
What is the BBC Red Button? Highlights from the Underworld session will be available on the Red Button at:
7pm (Wed 8 Oct) to 11am (Thu 9 Oct)
7pm to 10:25pm (Wed 15 Oct)
6am to 2pm, 3 to 7:55pm (Thu 16 Oct)
Does anyone have the ability to record Red Button content? I'm assuming it will be in HD. If you can record it, please post here or PM me. Thanks.

What is the BBC Red Button?
Red button is part of their Digital TV service. So if someone has Sky TV they can hit the Red button on the BBC channel and access it that way. As far as i know it is not possible to record red button feeds on the actual Sky box but it should be possible to record it using a Digital Recorder with a feed of the sky box or just by hooking the feed into a laptop and recording that way.
I will look into doing this if I get a chance to go back to my family home (which has Sky tv) during the available times

For those of you who have yet to snap-up your copy of the album, or get tickets to one of the shows, or even if you have, there’s a nice opportunity to tune in and hear Underworld in action on Wednesday 8th October as part of BBC 6 Music’s “Live at Maida Vale” season (11am UK time. 6Music Underworld Set 8th October 2014
Listening then watching – Darren Price is there !
Setlist:
Started 12.10
Track 1 Dark and Long – ‘Ride the Train’ sounded live wasn’t watching at the time (only listening) DP helps Rick - now watching live stream
Claps and break at 12:19
Track 2 Dirty Epic – different piano riff towards the end, plus different echo on Karls voice – can't see DP on this track – glorious vocals into saturated echo towards the end. Very Landarn Geezer at the end “Listen to what he said” Keyboard to out
Claps and break at 12:29
Lauren Laverne speaks to Karl
Mid interview – Darren Price comes back to join Rick.
Karl talks the Bill Bailey Born Slippy story
More interviews and crowd interaction
Restart at 12:34 – straight into:
Track 3 – Two Months Off – Karl says ‘from Dark to Light’. Lots of interaction at the start between Karl and Rick –then glorious chords. Karl looks euphoric
Claps and break at 12:42
Track 4 – Scribble – Karl says ‘well into the light’ as the lights change from stark blue white to Balearic sunset gold. Different (deeper) undercurrent of the high techno drum – like its remastered ;-) Think I’m gonna cry- so euphoric. Different more ambient mid section, then back into the beat.
Claps and break at 12:48
Karl mentions Darren Price “the man in black”
Track 4 Born Slippy NUXX Karl starts with All Together Now, All Together Now” in a Cockney Accent. A more traditional start than normally live. Almost the original, so as not to catch the audience out. Crowd goes wild at first breakdown keyboards. Is THIS the culmination of 20 years – many more if you go back to Freur ? Not a massive BS NUXX fan, but this is rather nice. Drums come on at the end – will they last ? Yes, certainly beyond the radio edit fade. Some new improv sounds – wonderful proper NUXX ! Dusty in here again !
Claps at 12.57 and massive white lights.
Lauren Laverne thanks the boys – Karl talks about Live, Rick and ‘that Herbert over there’ (Darren Price waves back !)
Gentlemen of a certain age are in the crowd - you know who you are - lucky gits !
Karl mentions they have been recording again as Underworld !!! FMS. Rick agrees with much nodding
Lauren finishes at 13:01
Track 5 – Cowgirl to crowd cheers – more heavily vocoded Karl, sounds like he’s singing over himself due to the reverb. This is quite a standard version so far. Lots of crowd cheers in the breakdown. Better, deeper ending bass. Echo finish.
Claps at 13:08
Karl talks to the crowd.
Track 6 - sounds like the last, brothers and sisters. Jumbo with deep bass. Deffo a new / remastered sound – sonically much more precise. Iike Scribble. The single note refrains are more echo laden, more of a lament, with less twang at the end. It goes euphoric at the end and Karl smiles, eyes shut. More keyboard end than normal. Karl sings over his pre recorded lyrics. Hush from the crowd, Karl sighs then the crowd goes wild
Claps at 13:17
Karl thanks Richard and “the other bloke”
Lauren Laverne speaks to thank Underworld -UW did 20 minutes more than they were supposed to !

A great set! Was it just me, or did Scribble sound more like an Underworld track than a collaboration? I can't put my finger on why but it didn't feel as lighweight and 'pop'.

Seemed to be mostly playback... was hoping for a bit of Mmm Skyscraper I Love You but on balance they had to keep it fairly eclectic for the average 6 Music listener. Glad they got Dirty Epic in there and Two Months Off was excellent. Scribble, NUXX, and Jumbo were ok.. fairly standard playback as was Dark & Long. Hope they go a bit more off the beaten track for the tour next year.

Hi, I grabbed and have edited the audio from the 6Music broadcast today.
I have taken the two interviews from during the set, and put them at the end, so you get all the music in one go. I hope that is OK. I can do another untampered with version of people want.
I also got the two interview section in the hour before the concert.
I will post it on the RTSR tracker later this evening.
There is also a stream grab of the MP2 Sky broadcast on Dimeadozen. I have compared that with my recording, and can not spot any difference. That has the whole concert and the two interviews as well, shared by Smiler40 (many thanks due).
I will see if I can get a DVD quality recording of the red button broadcast, but can not promise. I can't get it HD unfortunately, but would not be surprised if someone on Dime gets that.
I will make a cover artwork in the next couple of days, but unfortunatley the final of 'The Great British Bakeoff' prevents that from being done tonight (I know I am getting old and boring).
My copy of the Dubnobass... box set arrived in teh middle of 'Jumbo', so a good day all round.

The Red Button broadcast on FreeSat is also 576i, i.e. DVD / SD resolution, so I don't think it's being broadcast in HD. Also a pity they city the set down so much, particularly missing off Dirty Epic and Jumbo.
I can dump the FreeSat broadcast to DVD via analogue RGB SCART, but hopefully someone can grab a pure digital copy and DVD-ise it.

I'll be seeding it until I'm off to London :D

I didn't manage to get the 'Red Button' stuff. I got the DVD recorder set up after dropping my daughter off at nursery, scared in, and waited for the next loop to start, and it cut off after the first track at 10.45ish.
Sorry. I do think that a couple of people I know from other forums have recorded it though.
Glad people are happy with the edit, I thought it felt nicer to have all the music together.
I will add the webcast mkv grab I got from Dime later this evening.
I started on the artwork, but didn't feel it was going anywhere so will work on it at the weekend.

Intereting. They actually play the DubNo tracks just like they are on the album.
Even Cowgirl is in G minor, like on the album, while all live performance I know of are in G# (one semitone higher).

I guess you haven't read the recent interviews, but for this Dubno tour, they are recreating the album live as faithfully as they can to the original recordings.

Another round of thanks to Jamie for recording and editing this gig, sounds great!
I must have a hundred or more UW boots and live recordings, and while I prefer a varied set list and improve, at this point of time, its just nice to hear the guys back out there, enjoying playing in front of an enthusiastic audience, reminding us of why we fell in love with the band to begin with, and promising new music in the future. Heck, even hearing NUXX start off with the drums filled me with nostalgia and joy, no matter how many times ive heard it!

Of course it's not going to be perfect, but it's a very close facsimile. Karl's voice is different 20 years on, but he's trying to capture the tone and performance of the original performance, and he's put a lot of effort into doing it.
Rick's done a lot to recreate the original audio elements and timings of the tracks, and all in all, the performance recreates the album quite closely, and is quite different from their various live interpretations over the years, which, of course, was their intent: performing it in a way they've never done before.

If you don't like either please say so, and I will try some more ideas out, I won't be hurt by negative feedback, it is all valuable.

BBC Red Button is not available in HD due to capacity. It was available this year for short periods during sport events, but there are new BBC HD channels that have soaked up any spare capacity now.

Thanks for the detailed info, Mike. That's too bad.
Well, I've been able to download an anamorphic SD copy of the 40 min special from BBC iPlayer. It's probably better quality than whatever's been recorded from the Red Button. I also have 128 Kbps AAC and 160 Kbps MP2 audio of the full show. Between those and the YouTube HD videos, I'll have to cobble together all the best elements and author them into a DVD or something for RTSR.
Edit: I take that back. I just got a hold of the digital broadcast. It's got a decent 5 Mbps MPEG-2 bitrate, and I think it looks better than the 1.4 Mbps AVC bitrate for the online video. It also has a 192 Kbps MP2 soundtrack.
