For those not on RTSR, this morning I linked this recording I found some 9 months ago there.

[Mod note: http://www.borndirty.org/forums/showthread.php?t=9128]

It's an hour an a half, and seems like a legit recording. I have no info about it's source or anything as I found it googling around for 'experimental sound field 1992'

Enjoy

edit: my bad mods! won't happen again. There's an RTSR thread with the link.

Whoa!

I can't log-on to the tracker. It says I don't exist. What a gwan?

Thanks for linking to that post. That post exists to discourage the use of places like Rapidshare, whose links expire, and to encourage the use of the tracker and the FTP, which dont. And yes, the discussion about the Experimental Sound Field is going on over at the yahoo boards. You are most welcome to join in.

Scary man: no user by your name or your IP here on the tracker.

lots of good underworld bits in there.

> > I had a listen to it and it certainly sounds like Underworld. And yes, it's
from the Soundboard! The quality is pretty good for 21 year old recording, it
could do with a bit of a clean up.

middle.

This can pretty much be heard in most gigs from the early 90s, usually with Dark
& Long. The same zzzaaapp on the studio track known as Dirty / Dirty Epic
(Dirty Mix) / Dirty Fuzz.
> >
> > About 4 mins in - "Can U Feel Me? - same name, different song" theres what
sounds like an early version of Dark & Long, the rendition they used to play
live in the early 90s with the zzzzaaapppp every 8 bars. Karl sings "Can u feel
me?" "Ah-ha" "Oh-huh" instead of the lyrics we are used to...
> >
> > Then 50 mins of a DJ set that will provide you with plenty of 90s dance
nostalga. During the set, there is a very polite announcement from someone (not
Karl) asking people to get down from the PA tower. And another one later
announcing they are past the 12.30 curfew - and they will keep going, and see
what happens.
> >
> > 64 mins in - I will call this "Didgeridoo jam". Karl announces some friends
from "Philanic? Pulse playing on the didgeridoo tonight" and theres a 15 in long
jam, reminiscent of the signature sound of some of the remixes that Underworld /
Lemon have done for other artists. This is then followed by a "Dark & Long"
reprise, featuring the familiar heavy bassline heard at the intro of the studio
version. And then into a really sweet "The Hump" sounding guitar jam.
> >
> > Theres so much more in here, these are just a couple of highlights from my
first listen.
> >
> > We need to find the source of this, a 192k vbr mp3 does not do it justice!
And not only that, it would be useful to verify where this was recorded, it is
possible it was from Glastonbury 92 - but it could be anywhere?

> > This is what everyone here has been waiting for all these years - download
it now - get it on the tracker, ftp, whatever and see what you think :)

not really

the tape was given to me by a friend who knew some one in the bands management.. apparently there's a 2nd tape which is a continuation of the dj set but that never appeared.... i'm sure it exists in someones collection out there..

the tape came in a plain cover ... with some text of who was involved and where it was recorded

The Experimental Sound Field Feat. The Super Peace Brothers

Funktion One, Underworld, Shiva Photonics,
Trevor Morias, Danny G, Lemon Interrupt,
Darren Emerson, Thelemic Pulse

11.30pm 27/6/92 Glastonbury Festival

and some contact info for the management on the other side
that's it really ;)

Thanks a lot for your effort Bong!

I just can't seem to find it on the tracker or the ftp... Am I blind or is it gone? Under what name/folder is it filed?

TheBang

It'll be on the tracker soon. In the meantime, if you look in the RTSR message archive, I believe there was a download link posted.

I already asked Bong about that. He's shared everything he has, although more exists in the hands of UW.
