3 hours and 40 minutes of absolute bliss. for the 5 horn section, 3 back up singers, 8 person choir, and 8 or so regular members, they are one hell of a tight band.
surprise guests = arcade fire.
band got teary during the last 2 songs. James lost it singing New York, I Love You.
i did too.
RIP LCD Soundsystem.
RIP LCD Soundsystem.
Nobody is dead, they will be back, just like every other band that have retired.

James doesn't need it.

obviously it depends on what Murphy does afterwards but yeah I think there's a good chance they'll be back
most people who decide to just quit on that level of success and integrity eventually come back when they realize the good outweighs the bad
that said, Murphy is generally a man of his word, so maybe he's serious

I only heard they were retiring when they were on the Colbert Report recently. Thank god I saw them at the Lowlands festival last summer. Great gig, but a real shame to see them go now (let's hope they will be back at some point).
btw I didn't get to see this streamed concert. Is there any way to re-watch it?

Was busy on the night, planning on having a bunch of friends around this week to watch it all together. Should be pretty sweet!

Yep, the whole concert is on youtube in pretty good quality. The higher-quality recording is split into 10 minute segments, or you can watch the whole thing as a 3.6 hour video, but in lower quality.

I've got the video ripped, as well as the audio seperately.
Gonna really miss LCD, easily my favourite band of the last decade (bar Underworld of course!) and I'm lucky to have seen them five or six times during every stage of their career from 05-10.
"When we're running out of the drugs, and the conversation's grinding away, I wouldn't trade one stupid decision, for another five years of life" RIP LCD.

LCD won't tour any more but they'll put out music, at least that's the way I've heard James describe it interviews

yeah, Murphy is LCD, LCD is Murphy, he's not retiring from the music biz, so I don't really think the band can "break up"...i'm sure he'll be releasing new stuff in a couple years
