Hmmm, well I'm not impressed. Still very basic, doesn't contain anything new really. I guess this could be another perpetual "work in progress", like Tomato site.
Sorry Ant, not wanting to diss any of your work, I'm sure you're mucho busy with all sorts of other stuff, but if this is supposed to be a site redesign, I think you better hire someone else who can devote more time to work on internet things.
"coming soon"
Where have I heard that before... ;)
apart from this forum, the (official) online information and resources concerning UW and Tomato are pretty pathetic at the moment wouldn't you say? (and have been for quite some time, especially since the old dirty site went down).

Oh come on. being a fellow developer (of sorts)
I feel bad that Ant gets the short end. I mean
he gives us a lot more info than OTHERS. Also
it doesn't seem like is tomato is hurting for
jobs or they might update (remember they do
advertising, the site is their business card)
Why do you want to see a new tomato site? Are
you looking for some advert work for your
multinational corp? or are you just some
amateur designer (at best) looking for some
new and fashionable design tropes?
hmmm;
and that's being polite about it.
Too polite by half. Underworld deserve far better representation than this.
Respect to Karl who did a great job over the summer keeping us updated on the tour and what the guys were up to, that has been our only reliable source of information and interaction. Diolch yn fawr iawn.

hmmm;
check it; tomato/aNT had the site "updated" with some decent content... aNT droned on... and on... about bish, bosh tomorrow is teh roXXorS site update!11EleVen! etcetera, etcetera....
and nothing. the site has taken a huge step in the opposite direction actually (read: back to having NO content!).
so, erm.. buh bye, now.

as I said, I mean no disrespect to Ant. I just don't understand why one of the biggest electronic bands in the world and one of the most well-know design collectives in the world can't seem to create and maintain a decent webpresence. Instead it get's sort of done as a side job by Ant who obviously doesn't have enough time to do it. All we get is work in progress, coming soon etc. Why even put this stuff online if it's not finished? What's the point if all that's changed is the background colour and extra menu links that say "coming soon"?
You say it yourself: their site is their businesscard. And for Underworld it's a connection to fans and interested people looking for info. And although I'm sure Tomato don't need that site to get their business, it still leaves a bad impression. Personally I'm not interested in their business, but in their work (being a fellow creative type person and professional (since two weeks) designer, thank you very much ;)).
Sorry to take this discussion in this direction but I think it has to be said (and obviously I'm not the only one who thinks this way).

Clearly you haven't bought aNt enough beers... then he'll give you all the information you want!
"last night errr that karl... yknow the blonde one... WORLD exclusive 'ere... he told me to 'piss off'' HAR HARR hoho"
Or, tell him "aNt, if you don't meet my demands I'm going to kidnap you and make you stay in that same 'Hotel' in L.A. you did back in mid 2001! This time without a drink ticket!"

Scott.
That mid 2001 hotel would be my fault.
I'll never be able to buy enough beers to make up to aNt for that.
Course he came to my wedding - so perhaps he's forgiven me.

Agreed. I don't know why more music acts do this. Why pay some publicist when you can do it yourself?

i don't think anyones getting excited about the site more that they are getting excited about forth coming underworld action.plenty of "ground breaking" sites out there if thats what floats your boat.

I don't think the design of the site is what's in question. It's more about how both the Underworld site and the Tomato site have been "under construction" and "coming soon" for a very long time now.
And this is not a jab at Karl and Rick. Like it was said, Karl is the only one who has been updating fans all summer long, and from what Karl's been updating, Rick has been busy with the music.
Someone said it before me, but it does make a good point: Tomato is a graphic design firm, and they can't get a website up?
*hugs everyone*... cheer up, somthing may happen :)

I totally understand not having a personal site. If you are that busy, you just can't take the time to make your own site... makes sense to me....
