Two Discs. Two Words.
Wow und Wow. (that's three counting "und")
crunchy, funky, thick, nice nice trax that.
Anything else out there that can match the stamina of Mayer's labels? I'm basically impressed across the board with Kompakt.
crank!

I'm totally digging Heartthrob's release "Time for Ensor" on Minus ATM. Here are some samples:

Glass Cat (http://c.decks.de/sound/sound_h/heartthrob_timeforsensor_minus31+2.mp3)
Golum (http://c.decks.de/sound/sound_h/heartthrob_timeforsensor_minus31+3.mp3)

you people must listen to a different kompakt. i have been distinctly unimpressed with anything recent off kompakt except the orb releases

I guess I'm just a sucker. Who knows?
The Orb has definitely resurfaced since his collaboration with Mayer's label that's fer dang sure. Esp. on Pop Ambient 2005 (am I remembering that correctly?)

Pop Ambient 2003.
I think it's just that I buy all the lousy Kompakt releases. I went to see Michael Mayer and he played all good stuff (well, all the ladies dancing thought so).

I saw Michael Mayer a while back and he definitely ripped it proper. Though as far as minimal DJs go I've got to give it up to Matthew Dear. He just came through New York again under the guise of Audion and tore it up. Definitely feelin it.
Should be interesting to see what Richie has in store this weekend. Last time I saw him I wasn't as keyed up about this minimal stuff as I am now.

then there's a new one - b/c on Pop Ambient 2005 it's got the Orb track "Falkenbruck" - not sure if it's an oldie or an new one though

Falkenbruck was on the orb's "Komplott" which came out a month before pop ambient 2005.
there was a new orb 12" on kompakt in may.

I really love "Masterblaster" by The Orb. For me it's THE example of electronic music. It's genious.

for some reason i get an entirely different vibe off their kompakt stuff, even different from bicycles and tricycles. i wonder if it's more fehlmann in those cases.
