hello folks,
due to colossal demand, i've started a blog, uploading all the orb live recordings i have.
http://letsgooccidental.blogspot.com/
i won't be posting updates on this forum, cos i don't want to clog it up with my spam.
anyway, if you're interested, i'll be updating this several times a week.
enjoy!

I went to a show of the Orb 2 days ago. I enjoyed it and they played a lot of their good stuff, but I wasn't much into the drummer. Electronic beats fit much better with the music. Also they finished with this really fast acid-ish techno which in my opinion was not very impressive. Not only did it not fit into the rest of the set, they weren't really cool tunes either. Still, I thought it was a good show though.

Wow thanks a ton for these!! Do the sets vary enough that I should get, say, all the '92 boots even though the tracklistings are basically the same? Anyways, I can't wait for the '95-'98 era recordings if you have them...Orbus Terrarum was always my favorite

erm, the 1991/1992 shows don't vary too much, i'm afraid. download the leeds uni 1992 show for the best one.
yeah, got lots of 1995-1998 recordings. i'm listening to one now...

yeah, i'm not a fan of their most recent stuff, live or album. i last saw them in 2004 and they were epic. finished with a monster version of assassin...

Orbus Terrarum is magnificant.

Ooh thanks for the link! The only Orb I had for the longest time was Orbus Terrarum & Cydonia but I recently got a ton of the old stuff and have been seriously hooked in. The Pomme Fritz 2CD re-release is especially keen.
Copping the Leads 92 gig as you suggested.

IIRC Kris Weston / Trash went on a bit of a C&D spree a few years ago, owing to some beef he had with YouTube and/or Google. Lost a lot of easy access live Orb recording through that one.

There's a Facebook group - The Orb Music & Remixes - where you can find everything you're looking for. Besides live performances, lots of bootlegs, leaked jams, rarities.

That Orb FB group is great, but finding things on FB? not so good.

the new Orb album is really nice. its not a throwback exactly but def sounds way more in the spirit of 90's Orb than pretty much anything they've done since.

On themixingbowl, that have 3 huge The Orb mega-torrents! I'm still only 1/3 into the massive amount of files, but it's soooo much great stuff!

Go figure my application to join the group only came after that :o

At least I still have a few the old live recordings stored, but I had hoped to upgrade them to slightly higher versions (for some reason, the volume is rather low on most of them, and being hearing impaired I'm struggling to appreciate them, even with everything maxed out).
